Primary Purpose:

To provide evaluation, consultation, and direct services in the child’s natural environment in the area of licensure. To provide parents information, support, and assistance in parenting and interacting with their child with developmental delays in order to help their child grow and develop in an optimum manner. To coordinate services of ECI contract therapists. To coordinate Early Childhood Intervention program services to children who are developmentally delayed, birth-3 years of age, and their families

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Abide by Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) policies and procedures to ensure compliance in delivery of comprehensive program services
  • Provide supervision of Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
  • Coordinate contract therapy services to ensure adequate therapy services are available as needed
  • Attend professional meetings, seminars, and other training sessions to be informed of current innovations and research in the area of Early Childhood Intervention
  • Collaborate with other agencies serving children with disabilities under three years of age
  • Ensure that all Health and Human Services Division for Early Childhood Intervention Services Contract requirements are achieved
  • Represent one of two required disciplines for evaluations, assessments and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) development, completing reports as appropriate
  • Participate in Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings as a member of the interdisciplinary team assisting in the development of the plan for each child and family
  • Conduct evaluations and provide therapy to enrolled children following outcomes which are written in the IFSP
  • Provide a minimum of 20 evaluations and a minimum of 30 hours of direct therapy each month
  • Deliver all services for which you are responsible, as identified in each child’s IFSP; follow local procedures for making up missed visits and following up with families with frequent absences
  • Maintain all documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in Child Find activities  
  • Complete required ECI trainings including First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, Confidentiality and any others required by ECI Policy
  • Maintain confidentiality as outlined in ECI policies
  • Demonstrate courteous, supportive behaviors when communicating and working with parents, community personnel, and staff
  • Demonstrate flexibility while working harmoniously in team settings and with other staff
  • Maintain current Texas driver’s license and auto insurance and travel to provide home or community based services and to attend professional growth activities and staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by ECI Director 
Qualifications:
  • Preferred Previous experience in working with children ages birth to three and parents
  • Professional Liability Insurance - Early Childhood Intervention/Region 15 requires each licensed employee to purchase insurance unless the employer elects to purchase the insurance if at a more reasonable cost. Early Childhood Intervention/Region 15 will reimburse the employee, at a reasonable rate, the cost of the insurance
